The National Commission on Sleep Disorders Research estimates that 38,000 cardiovascular deaths, due to sleep apnea, occur each year.

Over the long term, serious sleep apnea conditions have been linked to a greater risk of hypertension and cardiovascular diseases. However, sleep apnea was not well understood or recognized by the medical community until recently. And only a fraction of sufferers have been diagnosed and treated.

24.7 million Americans have some degree of Sleep Apnea

74 million Americans snore every night (a symptom of Sleep Apnea)

38% of Americans who snore or have a pause in their breathing while sleeping suffer with daytime fatigue and are more likely to have negative mood scores

Poll results show that while many Americans enjoy the benefits of sufficient sleep, as many as 47 million adults may be putting themselves at risk for injury, health and behavior problems because they aren't meeting their minimum sleep need in order to be fully alert the next day.

People in this army of the walking tired are more likely to sit and seethe in traffic jams, quarrel with other people, or overeat, according to the findings.

Are kids snoring their way to ADHD?
CNN Headline News - March 4, 2002

Researchers conclude sleepiness and apnea may be exhibited as symptoms of ADHD.

CHICAGO, Illinois (AP) -- New research suggests children who snore face nearly double the risk of being inattentive and hyperactive, providing fresh evidence of an intriguing link between sleep problems and attention deficit disorders.

Are You Snoring Yourself to Death?

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - "Dental surgons discover why snoring can kill: It can actually cause damage to the arteries and increase the chances of a stroke by 20 times".

When persons with sleep apnea fall asleep, their tongue falls back into their throat, blocking their airway. As they struggle for breath, their blood pressure soars," Dr. Arthur Friedlander, an oral surgeon who worked on the study, said in a statement. "We believe that this rise in blood pressure damages the inner walls of the carotid arteries lining the sides of the neck," he added. "Cholesterol and calcium stick to the injury sites and amass into calcified plaques, which block blood flow to the brain. The result is often a massive stroke." "The calcium deposits are just the tip of the iceberg," he said. "The X-ray can't show the true size of the plaque, which is also made up of fat, platelets and other soft tissue." When a person is suffering from sleep apnea, air cannot flow in or out of the nose or mouth. Oxygen is not taken in so carbon dioxide builds to dangerous levels in the blood. "It's like pressing a pillow over someone's face," Friedlander said.

Most people are not born with a snore...
They simply acquire it over a period of time. As we grow older, some people develop the habit of sleeping with their mouths open. This allows the jaw to relax and drop excessively during sleep. As a result, the skin, tissue, and muscles in the throat and mouth area are stretched beyond normal ranges for an extended time (several hours each night).

It's important that you take deliberate corrective action for this habit!
Otherwise, it could last your entire lifetime and lead to snoring. As a result, you could be setting the stage for developing serious medical problems, such as artery damage and stroke!

In fact, it might surprise you to know that 24% of adult men and 9% of adult women are estimated to suffer to some degree from a serious sleep apnea condition.

But The SLEEP ANGEL Can Provide Relief!

Other risk factors include habitual snoring, which is often a precursor of serious upper airway disorders and OSA. In fact, results from a recent study indicate that one in three men and nearly one in five women who snore habitually suffer from some degree of OSA.

Sleep apnea sufferers can have 20 to 60 or more involuntary breathing pauses -- called apneic episodes -- per hour, each lasting 10 seconds or longer. People with sleep apnea usually snore between episodes, and then snort, gasp or choke when they start breathing again. OSA sufferers never get a “good nights sleep” because repeated arousal's deprive patients of REM (deep-sleep stage) leading to chronic daytime exhaustion and long-term cardiovascular stress.

Consequently, OSA causes a drop in one’s blood oxygen saturation (SaO2) and an increase in the blood’s carbon dioxide (CO2). When the SaO2 drops the heart will start pumping more blood with each beat the SaO2 continues to drop the heart will start beating faster and faster. As the CO2 increases the brain will try to drive the person to breathe. The effort and action of the abdomen and chest will increase. Eventually that action can become severe enough to cause an arousal, (but the arousal does not fully awaken the person) clearing the upper airway blockage, allowing the person to breathe. Then you go back to sleep and it happens all over again.

It is also important to remember that when the immune system is compromised by a lack of oxygen, we are more susceptible to opportunistic bacteria, viral, and parasitic infections and colds, as well as flu. Oxygen deprivation can also lead to life-threatening disease, such as cancer. Cancer and most other infections or disease cannot live in an oxygen-rich environment.

“Cancer has only one prime cause. It is the replacement of normal oxygen respiration of the body’s cells by an anaerobic (i.e., oxygen deficient) cell respiration.” Dr. Otto Warburg, The Prime Cause and Prevention of Cancer, The Lindau Lecture, Germany, Wurzburg, Germany: K. Trilsch. 1966, English, translation by D. Burke, 1969.

I started using sleep angel a few weeks ago and my wife said that she no longer noticed hearing me gasping or choking while I slept. I wanted to see for myself, so I video taped myself sleeping. The next day, I watched two hours of video tape and did not hear any choking or gasping for air...Looks like I slept very comfortably. I am really happy with Sleep Angel. With the CPAP (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) machine, I had a very hard time sleeping with the mask on. It was never on my face when I woke up in the morning because I would pull it off without realizing it. With Sleep Angel, I wake up in the morning and it's still on. It has made my life so much easier.

Dear Steve,

I can't thank you enough for your sleep angel. My step-mother happened to get an e-mail from your company the day before I was going into the hospital for a sleep study. She bought herself one and one for me. My study showed that indeed I had oxygen deprivation going on and my 02 saturation rate was dropping 10 points during the night.I started wearing the sleep angel that next night, now in just 3 days I'm a whole new person! The fog I lived with for years has lifted and my mental acuity is remarkably improved. The second night I wore it I awoke the next morning and marveled how my aches and pains going down the stairs in the morning were GONE!

This is a unbelievably easy, comfortable and inexpensive solution to those of us who have issues with sleep apnea.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Dear Steve,

For the past few years I've been unable to sleep through the night -----or for very long. I considered 4 hours of sound sleep a “good night’s sleep.” I was always tired, and figured that my memory loss & feeling weak came with age-----at 43. My wife was beginning to complain about my snoring & jerking in the night. I wanted to keep my tongue from the back of my throat, so I resorted to sleeping on the couch with pillows wedged all around me to keep me in one position so I’d have an hour or two of uninterrupted sleep, then my body would cramp because of being unable to move. Sleep Angel changed all of that.

I've only used the Sleep Angel for three night’s, but what a difference! I can sleep as long as I want and feel life returning to me.

When I first saw it, I thought I wouldn't be able to sleep with something attached to my head, but I was wrong. The materials used are perfect; it’s as comfortable as a well broken in T- shirt. I put the SleepAngel on, adjusted it according to the instructions, and went to sleep---for eight hours!

I don’t have to be afraid of going to bed anymore and I now know what a full night’s sleep feels like.

Thank you Sleep Angel,

Perry Vath - Pace, FL

“I have been struggling with OSA for 8 years. I have been involved in various treatments including the use of 3 different kinds of C-PAP machines and one surgery where part of my throat was removed. All of these efforts during the past 8 years had done little to help me. Recently, my general condition was declining substantially and, knowing that OSA is a very dangerous, life threatening condition, I made an appointment to see my doctor. It was at this last visit that I would be told the most difficult news that I had ever faced: “John, there is nothing else that we can do for you here” said the doctor. “We have heard about an experimental surgery, in Atlanta, however, before you get your hopes up, let me tell you what the procedure is” Folk’s, I don’t know how many of you have ever had words like those spoken to you, but they will get your attention.

But it wasn’t over yet…. He went on to describe this ghastly “experimental” surgery: “During the procedure, they are going to pull your tongue out as far as possible, then they are going to slice it in half, right down the middle.” “Then they will cut out about 25% of your tongue (from the middle) and sew it back together.” “It may help you, and it may not.”

I was in shock, to say the least. These were my only two choices; continue to risk death every night, or have this painful, risky, experimental surgery that may or may not even help.

What would you do? I decided to wait as long as possible before making a decision.

2 months passed and one day I was talking with my boss, the General Manager of the television station where I work, when he told me about a friend of his, Steve Brown, who had almost died in November of 2001 from the symptoms of OSA. He went on to say that “ Steve had invented a simple device that prevents him from having OSA while he is sleeping.” Needless to say, he had my full attention. I asked him to try and get one of the devices for me. So, he called Steve and explained my situation. Steve told him to come by the house and he would have one ready to pick up. When my General Manager returned with the Sleep Angel, I was trying to use caution in allowing my expectations to be raised. However, being an engineer, after I saw the Sleep Angel, I realized that this device could possibly help me. This was the most hope that I had felt in several years.

That night, before I went to bed, I put the sleep angel on (It’s very comfortable, unlike any other OSA device that I know of) and I also put on my C-PAP. That night I slept like a baby. It had been several years since I have rested so well.

It has now been 2 weeks since I first received my Sleep Angel and I can tell you that I will never try to sleep without it! I can easily say that I have seen at least a 500% improvement in my overall condition. And needless to say, experimental surgery is no longer a concern.

Thank you Steve, for the opportunity to tell others about my experience. I hope that all of those who suffer from OSA will realize the same incredible results that I have.

Sincerely,

John, Pensacola, FL

ADHD in Children

CNN Headline News recently reported on a study that new research suggests children who snore face nearly double the risk of being inattentive and hyperactive, providing fresh evidence of an intriguing link between sleep problems and attention deficit disorders.

Children's behaviorial problems may be linked to their sleep habits, according to a new study. Children who snore often are nearly twice as likely as other children to have attention and hyperactivity problems, found a new study by the University of Michigan Health System. The results, published in the March issue of the journal Pediatrics, provide some of the most solid evidence ever of a link between sleep problems and behavior. The link is strongest in boys under 8. Snorers in this group were more than three times more likely than non-snorers to be.

Depression and Insomnia in Women

One of the main concerns with lack of sleep for women is depression contributed to lack of sleep. If you suffer from sleep apnea your unable to get the needed rest to handle the day to day activities. This affects a woman's hormone level which will cause more sensitivity, mood swings, and irritability. Many American women who are in search of more satisfying slumber are buying a hormone called Melatonin. Doctors have found that most depressed patients suffer from insomnia as a main reason for their depression. Women have a higher chance of insomnia after menopause. The American College of Cardiology found that 33 percent of 71,779 female nurses aged 40 to 65 who snored were more at risk of developing cardiovascular disease that those who did not snore. Sleep apnea affects up to 2 percent of the female population.

Love Handles and Fat Gain in Men

Men who suffer with obstructive sleep apnea often gain weight in the abdomen due to the process of age. As men age, they typically get less and less sleep. With less deep sleep or slow wave sleep there is less bodily production of the growth hormone. That deficiency is associated with increased fat tissue and abdominal obesity, reduced muscle mass and strength, and reduced exercise capacity, Obstructive sleep apnea suffers never get a good nights sleep, because repeated arousals deprive the patient of deep-sleep stage, leading to chronic daytime exhaustion and long-term risk of hypertension and cardiovascular disease. 10 percent of all men snore in the United States, 2 percent of those actually have the disorder.

If you haven't ordered by now let me tell you my story and how I came to create this product.

Hello! I’m Steve Brown.

I am 42 years old and live in Pensacola, Florida with my wife and our four daughters. Over a year ago, I began experiencing severe depression, irritability, excessive daytime sleepiness, and lack of concentration, forgetfulness, anxiety, and severe headaches. Little did I know it at the time that these were all symptoms of Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA.) My life was truly miserable, all because of the lack of sound sleep.

Several months ago, I nearly died one night in my sleep, from the progression of the Apnea symptoms. Later that day, I learned that death is not uncommon for those who go untreated. I traveled all over Pensacola that day trying to buy a CPAP or some other type of apparatus to help me sleep that night. There was literally nothing readily available unless I wanted to enter the hospital. I was facing another night without sleep, and frankly didn't believe I would survive it.

This fear caused me to decide not to go to bed that night until I designed a device that would prevent the apnea from happening. You've heard it said, “Necessity is the mother of invention,” that afternoon as I was driving home, a design idea for a corrective device occurred to me. I had been studying the cause of OSA for some time.

Some of my background is in engineering, and I felt that I had the design idea for the device that could stop or prevent sleep apnea from occurring. Now I was being forced to go home and prove it. So, I went home and designed, and made, the device that would, later that night, prevent my sleep apnea from occurring. Simple and comfortable! I slept like a baby that night.

Since then, I have been fine-tuning this sleep miracle. My depression and anxiety have disappeared, I’m thinking more clearly. I have no more headaches, and I’m full of energy!!! I feel like I’m 17 again!!! I really do! All because of my little “Sleep Angel”!!!

This product truly literally saved my life. That’s why I named it Sleep Angel! Since then, many of my friends who were on CPAP machines and other OSA prevention devices have switched to the Sleep Angel.

The Sleep Angel is also very effective at reducing snoring. It’s very comfortable and it’s very effective.

What are you waiting for? Don't Snore Yourself to Death!
